Mods are an extension that can be installed to make your Minecraft world much more exciting. Anyone can make a mod...if they know how to. I have been playing for many years, and I still have no clue how to. It takes months of coding. Anyway, to install a mod, a program called Forge is required. Although, it is fairly easy to download and install.
What are Mods?​
Installing Forge
Forge is an extension to Minecraft, that allows mods to be added. Follow the steps below to download Forge:

1. To download forge, click here.
2. On the left, you will see a panel labeled minecraft versions. Click the version you want. Now, in the box labeled "download recommended", click installer in the corner.
3. Double click (open) forge on your desktop or wherever it is stored (I assume you already know how to do that). A new window will pop up. Make sure "Install Cient" (as shown in photo) is selected, then press ok.
4. You have now downloaded Forge. Follow instructions on how to download mods to continue.
I do not have a windows computer, so unfortunately, I cannot provide pictures. Although, look at the mac pictures as they might be of some assistance.
With the help of your new forge extension, these next steps will be a breeze! Before you get started, make sure that whatever mod you download is compatible with your forge (if downloaded the 1.10.2 forge, than you mod MUST be 1.10.2. If it is not, than just download another version of forge).

1. Press ⊞ Win+r, and type in %appdata%\.minecraft
2. Open bin and you will see minecraft.jar. Open the file.
3. After downloading, the mod, drag it into this folder.
